Q: What made you want to do gymnastics?
A: My parents just put me in when I was a kid and I never left haha. My friend was also already in the competitive program so it made me more motivated to join.
Q: Who do you look up to the most in the gymnastics community?
A: Olympic gymnasts Ellie Black, Aly Raisman and Simone Biles, as well as all my coaches and teammates
Q: What type of advice would you give for girls or boys first trying out for gymnastics?
A: Don’t think about it too much. It’s a dangerous sport and you’ll just have to accept it, freaking yourself out over a skill won’t help you in any way. Just shut your brain off and go for it. Also, really listen to the advice/corrections your coaches give you and do your best to apply them, they know what they’re talking about!!
Q: What is your favorite event in gymnastics?
A: I think bars are the most fun but beam is the one I’m best at. So bars and beam!!
Q: What was your favorite memory through the years of doing gymnastics?
A: My coach helping me get over mental blocks and gain confidence in myself. There’s nothing that feels better than overcoming your fears and getting new skills!
Q:Other than gymnastics what do you like to do in your free time?
A:I like to workout/lift weights, cook, bake and hangout with friends in my free time
Q: How old were you when first tried out gymnastics?
A: I started recreational gymnastics at 2 years old and joined competitive at 7.
Q: What was the hardest competition you’ve ever been to?
A: Eastern championships
Q: Is there a goal you would like to accomplish during your years of gymnastics? What would that be?
A: I’d like to compete at nationals and place well on beam
Q: How many days a week do you train for and how long do you train a day?
A: My group trains 20 hours a week, so 4-5 hours per practice. However, I’m injured at the moment so I only come in for about 15 hours a week as I can’t do as much.
